Illegal Blocks

Just like the Nether, the Aether has restrictions on what blocks can and cannot be placed. Banned block cannot be placed by the player nor activator. Most Nether and fire related block cannot be placed in the aether. Attempting to place the block will result in block breaking particles. While some block remain banned other can become available to the Player by killing the Sunspirit.

Convertible Blocks

While some block cannot be placed, other blocks will convert on placement. As such netherrack that cannot be placed ordinary in the aether can be by placing igneous cobble netherrack instead. Importantly Aerogels cannot be gotten in any other way but though placement of lava.
